An Anthology of Student Writing

Perspective from a Coat

As I feel the cold air slapping my back,

I embrace for warmth.

My job is done — I kept them protected.

I failed to quit.

Yet, day after day, I’m getting stretched more and more

But I continue to clutch.

I can’t take it any longer

So I jump off and fly away.

It isn’t long until I am picked up again —

Recruited for the same job.

Until then, I will endure my duty —

Being a coat.
